Small-group photography workshops in New Zealand & worldwide

Improve your photography in some of the world’s most incredible landscapes

Join me for small-group landscape photography and astrophotography workshops in New Zealand and around the world, designed to help you improve your photography while experiencing incredible locations.

In New Zealand, I run photography workshops and tours in Aoraki/Mount Cook, Twizel and Lake Tekapo, Queenstown and Wānaka, Fiordland, the West Coast and other locations throughout the country. I also lead international photography tours to destinations including Iceland, Japan, the Dolomites and Slovenia, and Antarctica.

Practical Hands-on Tuition

I'm an award-winning professional landscape photographer and Sony Digital Imaging Ambassador, and my workshops combine plenty of time photographing in the field with practical, hands-on tuition.

Depending on the workshop, we'll cover composition, camera settings, filters, long exposures, exposure bracketing, panoramas, astrophotography and Lightroom and Photoshop post-processing techniques.

I hold a Department of Conservation (DOC) concession, allowing me to professionally guide photography groups on approved public conservation land throughout New Zealand.

Small Groups, Individual Support

My workshops cater for a range of photography experience levels, and with small group sizes, I can provide individual help based on your experience and what you'd most like to improve. You don't need to photograph with Sony equipment to attend, although you’ll have opportunities to try selected Sony cameras and lenses.

Workshops are also supported by Kase Filters NZ, giving you the opportunity to learn how neutral-density and graduated filters can elevate your landscape photography.

"My friends & I have just had a couple of fantastic days out with Meghan. We have certainly come away with new found knowledge & confidence in our photography skills. Meghan, as seen by her own fantastic photos (not surprising she is a Sony Ambassador) is a brilliant tutor with a wealth of knowledge & skill. Endlessly patient too, especially with post processing. Meghan has boundless energy & enthusiasm & a real passion for photography which she is only too happy to share. We will be back for more! Thanks Meghan."

"Having just come off an 8 day workshop with Meghan, I can absolutely recommend the experience to anyone interested in photography. The group of 5 participants had a wide range of photographic experience and skills, but the needs of each were catered to by Meghan's care and attention to detail. The itinerary was adapted where and when necessary to ensure that we had the very best opportunities to make great images. A most enjoyable experience."

"Meghan's knowledge of the places you visit on a workshop is second to none. Having great locations like this really assists in getting the best out of everyone's photography. We found her to be a great teacher and she makes you excited to try different types of photography that you may not have had a preference for. For me it was the astro part of the workshop - I had never tried this before but ended up loving it. I highly recommend Meghan's workshops and look forward to doing another."

"Having followed Meghan and her captivating portrayal of New Zealand’s landscape on instagram for over 5 years, I’ve finally had the opportunity to join her 5-week online live photography course. Meghan has a gift to explain the “how to” of landscape photography in a very clear, easy to understand and enjoyable manner. Her depth of knowledge in every aspect will prove a more than worthwhile investment for anyone who enjoys this form of photography, whether novice or experienced"
