Nelson Tasman & Marlborough cover a huge area of coastline and some amazing NZ landscape photography locations. My favourite spot in the whole region is Wharariki Beach, with its amazing offshore Archway islands that reflect perfectly in the wet West Coast sand on the beach. In this region you're never too far from the sea, with scenery like the Queen Charlotte and Abel Tasman Tracks that provide sweeping vistas for hikers and mountain bikers.
I'm a huge fan of the Golden Bay area and not just because of Wharariki Beach, there's so much to explore here around Farewell Spit and the golden bays of Tata Beach and Pohara as well as the lovely river walk into Wainui Falls. You also shouldn't miss Pupu Springs (Te Waikoropupu) for water so clear it'll blow your mind. Heading further south you have the opportunity to be wowed by the Lake Rotoiti and the Nelson Lakes area - visiting Whisky Falls by water taxi was a great experience for the whole family - my boy even got to drive the boat!
Further afield on the east coast is the remote and windswept Cape Campbell with its iconic lighthouse. I was lucky enough to stay a weekend here - the weather was rubbish but it still made for some great photography opportunities - and a double rainbow over the lighthouse which is sight not many can say they've seen!
