How Meghan Maloney’s Workshops Will Give your Landscape Photography a Boost

Looking around NZ, it feels like capturing the country’s stunning scenery in a photograph should be easy. It’s the most beautiful country on earth, all you have to do is snap your camera, right?

Wrong. There is so much more to landscape photography than meets the eye.

Milford Sound Mist Dawn

Are you having trouble making the colours pop? Portraying the moving clouds in the skies or the eerily calm water? Though nature looks gorgeous to the naked eye, you may find your photos don’t compare. A landscape photographer needs more than just a beautiful setting for a perfect picture – which is precisely where my workshops and tours come in!

Landscape photography 101

Even if you already have the fundamentals mastered, my landscape photography workshops will teach you the unique set of rules that apply to creating amazing images of scenery. In my courses, we’ll discuss camera settings, shot composition and lighting. We’ll investigate what makes a good landscape photograph and the unmatched value of an original perspective. Then, we’ll add to your knowledge by teaching you the tricks of the trade that make a landscape photograph truly stunning.

Planning pays

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: a big part of taking striking landscape photos is proper planning. In my courses, I’ll walk you through this essential piece of the puzzle, showing you how to utilise Google Image searches, weather forecasts, tides, torches and other tools to your advantage. Remember: planning is just as important as luck and a keen eye!

Explore the real NZ

Exploring NZ’s wilderness is my passion. For years, I’ve hiked, tramped, and camped my way around the country, noting my favourite spots to experience the real, off-the-beaten-track wilderness.

Mt Cook Hooker Lake Sunset

The best time and place to see the Milky Way? The most spectacular sunrises? The country’s finest waterfalls? These are my personal travel notes that I will share with you during my landscape photography workshops.
